Communication skills are the most important thing that you can learn. Don’t believe me ? Take a look around you at your level of success…

Then take a look at the ads in the papers or on the net.

The common thread is that employers are looking for people like you who have good communication skills or even excellent communication skills.
This doesn’t mean that you must be silver tongued. What it means is that you should have the ability to clearly convey concepts and ideas to others. You don’t even have to be world class, unless of course you’re aiming for the higher echelons of business or want to have the best friendships that you possibly can…

Business owners must communicate even more skillfully with their clients and prospects and staff. Without that close relationship your customers are still looking for someone else to feel secure about that they can do business with. You just lost the sale…and your staff may be looking for somewhere else where they’ll get recognised for their skills, talent and dedication.

Families need to rediscover the sense of bond and trust that our grandparents knew. Research shows that communication skills are the thing that will make a house a home. Not the plasma screen TV or the SUV in the driveway.It’s relationships…. and the trust that comes from being understood and validated. The trust and cooperation….

Now as you may have already suspected there’s more to communication than meets the eye (or ears or mouth…)

Human communication is quite complex and you’re probably not always aware of what is being said to you, much of the time. However that doesn’t stop you from reacting in a knee jerk way to those messages and then maybe wondering afterwards ” Why did I do that? “

We all do it…

The thing is that you were never given the insider information on how to be a powerful and dynamic speaker; or a leader who builds teams or empires with others…

It’s not your fault… You were trained to be ineffective and uncooperative…The system needs you to be that way so IT can survive…

Humans are by their very nature cooperative. If we weren’t where would all the great cities and structures in them come from?

The problem is not that we are uncooperative it is that we were trained and conditioned to be led by people using certain types of language. Certain commmunication patterns that have been studied over the centuries and practised by the “leaders” until they are so polished you’d slip on them.

Communication skillls that are used to divide…. so that they can rule…(Rule you, that is !)

Now this isn’t all bad, as you too can learn these patterns of communication to your advantage. And lets face it. Right now, with the global economic downturn, you probably need all the advantages you can get.

We’re coming at communication from a different perspective here at Top communication skills. We believe that until commmunication is used to see what we all have in common, then basically as a species we’re screwed.
What we want for you is to be able to rediscover your birthright of cooperative relationships based on mutual trust and understanding.
